Phone Service – VoIP

VoIP is the term used for many communication standards and transmission protocols for the delivering of voice communication through Internet networks or IP based networks. As such it can be compared to a phone service without the usage of copper lines or wireless cell phones. VoIP as a type of phone service stands for Voice over IP or also Voice over Internet Protocol. It has the benefit of lower costs and ability to make contact with another user from anywhere where one has Internet connectivity. It is often referred to as a broadband phone service, but businesses wanting more secured lines may set-up VoIP systems. One of the main benefits of VoIP is the fact that normal phone lines are not taken up. The user can still browse the Internet, receive and send emails, as well as electronic faxes while having a conversation over the Internet in real time with another person.
