Cable Internet – Explanation of What it Entails

Cable Internet refers to Internet access via the use of the cable television architecture. Cable Internet is fast broadband Internet access. The Internet connectivity is thus via the existing telephone network. Used mainly in the USA for residential Internet access, cable Internet access is under pressure from competitor connectivity via wireless and satellite networks. A cable modem is needed at client premises plus a cable operator that has a specific cable modem termination system. Connection between the two is obtained by means of coaxial cable, from there the name cable Internet access. Hubs of cable modem termination systems are often used to improve access management.
